This year, we decided to bring the kids in on the New Year's celebration. We did our version of a balloon drop (very lame compared to the Pinterest one I tried to imitate) before dinner (simply because there was no way the drop was staying up long).
Anyways, the girls loved the balloons and kicked them around the house while we prepared our New Year's Eve feast.
Jessica was excited to drink out of pretty pink glasses just for the New Year. Luckily, I found a pack that had one pink and one blue. At this point, Jamison had started to lose some of her New Year's Eve party spirit.
Earlier in the week, we had purchased poppers for our New Year's Eve party. Once dinner started, I could finally say "yes" to Jessica when she asked if she could open them. She had learned all about party poppers in her class's exploration of holiday celebrations, and was excited to get a toy, crown, and joke. The best part was that she got multiple poppers this time around!
I think Jim was happy with the party poppers. He did ask where his popper was and wanted to open one I swear.
After dinner, the horns came out. We quickly realized that was not a good idea (think headache inducing noise).
For New Year's Eve, we told the girls they could stay up as late as they wanted watching movies and eating popcorn. Jamison and Jim made it through 2 movies, while Jessica and I passed out on the couch.
