the day after Yosemite

After a late night home from Yosemite, the girls had a sleepover in the family room.  The sleep over continued well into the next day as the girls recovered from their trip by watching movies.  Mousse enjoyed cuddling with them as he was tired out from his doggy vacation.

Memorial Day Weekend in Yosemite - Day 3

We spent one more day in Yosemite before heading home.  Our first stop was for more scenic pictures.

Then, we drove up to Glacier Point.

The girls were tired after all the climbing.

Memorial Day Weekend in Yosemite - Day 2

As the adults got ready to head into Yosemite, the girls played games around the campsite.

We eventually got packed up and headed into Yosemite with everyone else.  Memorial Day weekend is their busiest weekend of the year evidently.

On the way in, we stopped along the way at the various scenic stops.

We made our way to Bridalveil Falls, where we spent some time walking around the rocks, trees, and water before heading up to the falls.  

Both Jamison and Jessica proved they are capable of doing lots of climbing and I often wondered where our little baby went on this trip.  Jamison proved she is a big girl now.

Then, it was off to the falls.  

Jessica and Jim hiked a bit further up and in then the rest of us.

Jamison enjoyed playing hide and seek while we waited for them to come back down.

After they got back, we went to Cathedral Beach for a picnic lunch.  The girls enjoyed skipping rocks in the water.

We also spotted a few climbers on El Capitan.

On the way out of the park, we posed for some more pictures.

Back at the campsite, the kids settled in to watch The Lorax and a make shift big screen.

And, as expected, Jessica enjoyed roasting smores.

Memorial Day Weekend in Yosemite - Day 1

For Memorial Day weekend, we went camping with friends in Yosemite.  Here is a picture of the girls as we embarked on the long car drive.  The ride didn't phase them as they had their iPads with them.

We made it to our campsite without too much difficulty and setup our campsite.

The girls helped a bit, but preferred to continue to watch their iPads.  This was okay in the short term as it kept them out of the way as we set up camp.

The girls had been asking for a sleepover for some time.  They were up way too late reading to each other and chatting into the night.  They finally fell asleep.

After school one day, Jessica went swimming with one of her friends.

Nothing beats a big snack after swimming in the pool.

first trip to Great America of the season

Back in the middle of May, we took the girls to Great America for our first trip of the season.  The girls had fun on the carousel.

Jamison wanted to go again and again and had fun riding in the carriage.

Ben and Isabella joined us at the park and everyone had fun posing with Snoopy.

The girls had fun riding together on the fliers by themselves.

This trend continued on the pumpkin ride, while I rode with Jamison.

Jamison liked to go up and down on the bug ride.

Meanwhile, Jessica and I had a good time on the tiny roller coaster.

And, everyone had a good time on the bumper cars. Jamison is finally tall enough to drive them!

Jessica went soaring on the swings.

Since Jamison isn't tall enough for the swings, we went on a few other rides.

Then, it was back to the snail ride as the big girls wanted to ride it.
