Meet Lenny

Our family just welcomed a new kitten into the house.  We rescued him from an adoption agency.  His name is Lenny.

a trip to the Circus

Before heading back to school, the girls had a special outing at the circus.

While in Indiana, the girls got to go horse back riding with their Aunt Jenny.

Jamison loved spending time with the horses.

Mother's Day Celebration

On Mother's Day, we had a small bbq with family.  All of the kids swam.  We also celebrated their birthdays too.

Later in the day, the girls and I enjoyed a walk and scooter ride with the dogs.

Grandparent's Day at School

Here is Jessica's grade singing during the Grandparent's Day celebration at her school.

Jessica's Nana was able to come and got to spend some time in her classroom.

Some of Jessica's artwork was featured in the art show too.

Easter Celebration

The girls prepared for Easter Day by dyeing easter eggs.

On Easter, the girls got dressed up in dresses made by their Mimi.

Then it was time for the Easter egg hunt.

After Easter brunch, everyone enjoyed yummy treats that the girls helped make (rice krispie treats and chocolate dipped strawberries).

family hikes

As the weather was quite warm in March, we took the girls on some hikes in the park close to our house.  They loved walking out and about.

We even managed to see lots of deer despite the kids making quite a bit of noise.

Overall, the girls thought hiking was fun.

Jamison decided that the lake is also really fun for watching fish and ducks.

Jessica's Daisy Investiture Ceremony

Back in February, Jessica's Girl Scout troop finally had their investiture ceremony.  Our troop got a late start in November, so it took a while to put everything together.


Jamison was excited to finally get to go to something Girl Scouts related and insisted on wearing her Chip hat to the ceremony.  It was a perfect wardrobe choice as far as she was concerned.

As part of the ceremony, the girls said the Girl Scout Law.

Daddy's birthday dinner

For his birthday dinner in January, Jim chose a local Teppanyaki restaurant.  Here he is posing with the girls.

Jessica got to hold the birthday umbrella during the birthday song.

Jamison's half birthday celebration

Back in January, we celebrated Jamison's half birthday at school since her birthday is in summer.

Here is the earth goes around the sun ceremony (3 1/2 times since Jamison was 3 1/2 years old).

a trip to the American Girl store

Nana took the girls to the new American Girl store for a belated Christmas tea and presents.  Jamison chose some animals and Jessica chose the new doll, Isabelle, along with clothes.

Christmas Eve Dinner

Here are the girls posing on their way out of the house to Christmas Eve dinner.

At dinner, the girls got their own special table at dinner.  It was better than any kid's table I sat at as a child and they absolutely loved it.

School Holiday Program

Before winter break, Jessica participated in her school's holiday program.

After the holiday program, Jessica and her class enjoyed a holiday celebration with cookies and hot chocolate in her classroom.

The Nutcracker

Before Christmas, the girls went to see the Nutcracker.  This was the first time that Jamison went to see the show. We got a quick photo of the girls all dressed up before we left.

Once we got to the show, the girls had the opportunity to see Santa.
