Meet Lenny

Our family just welcomed a new kitten into the house.  We rescued him from an adoption agency.  His name is Lenny.

Over the holidays, Duke had surgery on his leg.  The girls were all about cuddles to help him get better.

After a late night home from Yosemite, the girls had a sleepover in the family room.  The sleep over continued well into the next day as the girls recovered from their trip by watching movies.  Mousse enjoyed cuddling with them as he was tired out from his doggy vacation.

As the weather has gotten warmer, the girls have had fun playing in the yard.

Jamison thinks that she is a big girl like her sister and likes to try to swing on the big girl swing.

She scare me as she likes to lean all the way back.

And, she also likes to hang from the slide's safety bar. Probably not the safest of things.

Bubbles are a big hit too.

The dogs also love the time outdoors as it means playing ball.

Last night, Jessica, Jamison, and the dogs crowded into the kitchen while Jim and I cooked dinner. Jessica entertained Jamison for us. She sat next to her and played with her. She chose her new favorite seat -- the Bumbo. Amazingly, she can still squeeze into it. When we suggest she is too big for it, Jessica says that Jamison needs to share.



She does look pretty cute in it though.



Mousse decided to get involved in the kitchen fun by licking the camera.



And, Duke participated by giving Jessica kisses.



Eventually, Jessica thought it would be fun to put the Bumbo on her head.

Jessica loves her dogs Duke and Mousse. She really likes to cuddle with them. Here are a few photos I got of her with them recently.

Jamison week 11

Jamison had quite a busy week. She really enjoyed her bouncy seat. Can you tell by the smile on her face?



I suppose we should thank Benjamin H. for recommending it and giving it to us. It is the go to activity when showers need to be taken, dishes washed, dinner eaten, etc. We think Jamison is interacting with it much more by hitting and kicking the hanging toys. We say she is doing it on purpose rather than accident. Who knows. You can decide for yourself.

Unfortunately, Jamison is really not liking tummy time anymore. I have no idea what happened to that small baby that would sleep on her tummy. She just doesn't exist anymore. I've taken a different tactic with tummy time and brought out the wedge so she is on an incline. This didn't really help and all she tries to do is to scoot down the wedge.



The only saving grace of tummy time is that it puts her hand in easy reach. She loves to suck her hand and does it quite loudly in fact.

This was also the week of kiss attacks. She was "lovingly" kissed by Duke, Jessica, and Mousse.

Mousse isn't just kisses and licks. He is also a great cuddler. He and Jamison like to sit on the couch together and relax.



Jamison also likes to sit in the Bumbo.



And, she also enjoys propping herself on mommy's and daddy's bed. It doesn't usually last long, as she usually face plants into the bed pretty quickly, but it still is fun.



I'm starting to read to Jamison more now. She really seems to enjoy books like her big sister Jessica. So, when the girls and I let Jim sleep in on Sunday, we decided to cuddle together in Jessica's bed and read books.



Jamison also likes spending time on her activity mat. She is really getting curious about all the things on the mat.

And, when she gets fussy, she likes to dance with her daddy.

This week sure was busy. Luckily, Jamison is a good napper.

Happy 3rd birthday Jessica!

Today, Jessica turned three. She celebrated with popsicle treats at school and a Happy Birthday from all her friends as well as a cupcake at home with another round of Happy Birthday.

Jessica was very excited that her cupcakes had pink frosting and sprinkles. Her daddy was able to find her the perfect cupcakes.



Notice Mousse in the background. He patiently waited near Jessica hoping for a morsel or two of cupcake.

On another note, her 3rd birthday has also marked another important milestone -- moving from pull-ups to underwear. She is now wearing underwear to school since she is a big girl. She's done fairly well the past few days. We need to teach her a bit about modesty, however, because as soon as she gets to school she lifts her dress and shows everyone her underwear.

Today, Jessica had lots of fun having a picnic in the kitchen. Her faithful friends Duke and Mousse joined her. I'm pretty sure they were hoping for some of her snack out of the deal. I can't prove it, but I'm pretty sure she was sneaking them food. She kept telling me that they were hungry.

Jessica still likes to cook in the kitchen. Yesterday, she wanted Duke to wear an apron too. He wasn't exactly willing, but did play along. This is one time that Mousse did not mind having to sit on his bed in the other room.

Jessica tries to be a good helper. We were giving Mousse some time without his cone the other day and she saw it and wanted to put it on him. Check out this video.

Jessica spent a good portion of the last few days taking care of her moo moo. She played doctor for him -- giving him shots, feeding him, giving him juice, etc.

It looks like Mousse did tear his ACL after all. We are now preparing for him to have TPLO surgery on his leg. This procedure has about a 2 month plus recovery time. You can check out Mousse's progress at http://moussegloretplo.blogspot.com/. We recently got Mousse a crate and he needs to be pretty sedentary during his recovery. I thought it would be a big fight to get him in, but he seems to be adjusting to it pretty well. Tonight, he even went to have one of his chewies.

This week, I spent a lot of time at a conference. Tuesday night, Jessica stayed up late watching Elmo with Duke and her daddy so she could see me before going to bed. Once again, Duke is really a good boy. Who knew he could double as a cushion. Usually he thinks of people as his own personal pillows.
