Jamison is back to school

After Winter Break, Jamison enjoyed going back to school in early January.  At school, she has been working on writing and patterns.

She also made herself a cape for being a Super Reader.

Before Winter Break, the girls sang in Winter Concerts at their school.

Jamison's Half Birthday Celebration at School

In December, Jamison had a 1/2 birthday celebration at school since her birthday lands in the summer.   Everyone in Kindergarten enjoyed a special birthday snack.

Jamison loves Kindergarten.  Morning meeting is always fun and she enjoys playing different games.  Here she is trying to match a person to a shoe so she can say "Good Morning" to them.

This month she learned about Hanukkah from a friend's Family Share. She enjoyed the games and treats!

They are also learning about feelings right now in Kindergarten.  Is she sad or mad?

She's also working on writing and reading.

The holiday party before Winter Break was also really fun.

Jessica at school in September

Just a few quick pictures of Jessica from school in September.  She likes to play in the sandbox with friends.

She also enjoyed a pizza party for completing her summer reading assignment (read as many books as possible and keep a log of what you read).  The pizza was well earned as she read over 40 chapter books alone.

She has fun when she goes to music.

For Back to School Night, Jamison made a scene for us to imitate. Jim did a good job!

The art teacher visited and read "Harold and the Purple Crayon" and talked to the class about lines.  Everyone then worked on drawing a line monster.

Jamison's class also practiced for picture day.  Jamison had fun posing for the camera and doing dress-up.

Everyone in the class has a weekly job.  Here Jamison is practicing loading the dishwasher as the Kitchen Helper.

First Day of School

Here is Jessica on her first day of 2nd grade.

Once we got to school, she got settled in to her spot at her table.

Jamison started ELC-B a few days later and gets to enjoy one more year without uniforms.

End of First Grade Party in June

Here is a photo of Jessica from her end of school party.  It was a Mad Hatter party and she is sporting a hat she made herself!

After school officially ended, the class had a pool party.  It is hard to tell if Jessica liked the swimming or the treats more!

ELC A to ELC B Party in June

Back in June, when Jamison's school year ended, there was an ELC A to ELC B party at Pump It Up.  Jamison had a blast on the big slides.

She also had fun trying to rock climb.

Jamison's last day of school

On Jamison's last day of school, she wanted to show me the treasure chest and dog that she played with at school (two of her favorite things).

1st Grade Camping Trip

Jessica's class went on a camping trip in May.  The kids enjoyed some small hikes.

Nighttime is always fun because of smores and flashlights.

Grandparent's Day at School

Here is Jessica's grade singing during the Grandparent's Day celebration at her school.

Jessica's Nana was able to come and got to spend some time in her classroom.

Some of Jessica's artwork was featured in the art show too.

For Jessica's school auction, we hosted a sleepover at one of the local zoos.  Jim and Jessica got to go, while Jamison and I stayed at home as Jamison was too young to attend.  Everyone gathered around for the welcome.

Then, the kids broke down into smaller groups for various activities.

They got to meet a few animals too.

Then, it was time for a night hike in the zoo, where the kids practiced walking blindfolded and also got to see some of the nocturnal animals.

Despite a late night, Jessica was excited to be at the zoo in the morning.

And, they went on another tour to see more animals and fed the farm animals.
