our first trip to the new Exploratorium

In February, we finally made a visit to the newly revamped Exploratorium. The whole family really enjoyed the new space.

Both girls got a laugh out of the toilet seat drinking fountain.

Jamison enjoyed all the hands on experiments even though she didn't understand the science behind it. It just seemed like a lot of new toys and fun to be had.

The best part, however, according to the girls was the fun climbing structure outside.

Jamison was so proud of herself to make it to the top.

And, there is nothing like sharing a rocking seat with your sister and eating ice cream to end a beautiful day by the bay.

Sophia the First dress

While Jamison still loves Ariel the most, she has been branching out and enjoying other characters. She was very excited to receive this Sophia the First dress from Mimi recently and had to wear it to school the very next day to show all of her friends.

Jessica's Daisy Investiture Ceremony

Back in February, Jessica's Girl Scout troop finally had their investiture ceremony.  Our troop got a late start in November, so it took a while to put everything together.


Jamison was excited to finally get to go to something Girl Scouts related and insisted on wearing her Chip hat to the ceremony.  It was a perfect wardrobe choice as far as she was concerned.

photo booth fun at Severin's birthday party

Jessica and Jamison were excited to go to their friend Severin's birthday party back in February.  They loved the photo booth that was setup at the party and goofing around with friends was a fun way to spend a rainy morning.

Star Wars Birthday Party at the Museum

Jim and Jessica went to the Star Wars exhibit at the local museum to celebrate Roy's 7th birthday a few months ago.

Jessica enjoyed ice skating with her friends at Olivia's 7th birthday party. Here she was during a quick food break.

my little helper

After Duke's surgery, he had to have his leg rehabilitated by going on multiple daily walks.  Jamison was my little helper and accompanied me on many of those walks. Sometimes, she liked to walk with her stroller and sometimes she liked to walk the dogs herself.

Here is a picture from one of the walks.  We had to stop for a milk break just a few houses down from our own house and less than 2 minutes into our walk.

Duke did not get the best rehabilitation when she joined me for walks.

Daddy's birthday dinner

For his birthday dinner in January, Jim chose a local Teppanyaki restaurant.  Here he is posing with the girls.

Jamison's half birthday celebration

Back in January, we celebrated Jamison's half birthday at school since her birthday is in summer.

more ice skating

Despite the sunny weather, it is ice skating season.  Here are some photos of Jessica and her friend skating.

Jessica is big into sleepovers these days.  At a recent sleepover, the older girls reenacted Frozen.  Jamison tried to tag along in the fun as Sophia.

And, there is nothing like smores before bedtime!

Genevieve's 7th birthday party

Jessica had fun jumping around at a gymnastics and aerial center for Genevieve's 7th birthday party. She was brave to do the zip line and loved it so much she kept doing it.

Flying was pretty cool too.

All of the kids had fun celebrating with Genevieve.

a trip to the American Girl store

Nana took the girls to the new American Girl store for a belated Christmas tea and presents.  Jamison chose some animals and Jessica chose the new doll, Isabelle, along with clothes.

New Year's Eve Celebration

We had some friends over to celebrate the New Year.  The kids loved the noise makers (adults not so much).

They also really enjoyed the snaps they set off outside.

Even the "little ones" got in on the fun.

what happened to my family?

I came home from work, and the whole family was playing Skylanders and screaming at the TV. Even Jamison.  I have lost my family...

It was an eventful winter break because Jessica finally learned how to ride her bike!
