a spring break trip to the zoo

Back in April, when the girls had the week off school for spring break and Jim had a day off work, Jim took the girls to the zoo.  The first stop was the giraffes.

Then, it was on to the cat statues where the girls always want to pose.

They spent more time looking at animals.

Then, it was off to have some fun on the rocks.

Later, a mandatory stop at the rhino statue and animal posters was needed.

Springtime meant babies at the zoo too!

And, a trip to the zoo isn't done without a stop in the newly renovated playground.

another hike in Foothills park

Back in April, we took another hike in Foothills Park with the girls.  Here are some photos of the girls and I hiking.

We also explored the little island at the lake.

a rainbow dress for Jamison

Last year, Jessica had a rainbow dress and Jamison really, really wanted it, but it didn't come in her size. This year, Mimi found one for her in her size.  She loves it and would wear it everyday and all the time if we let her.

Here is Jamison posing in one of her Easter themed dresses.  The word "ham" comes to mind.

sleepover at the zoo for Jessica's school auction

For Jessica's school auction, we hosted a sleepover at one of the local zoos.  Jim and Jessica got to go, while Jamison and I stayed at home as Jamison was too young to attend.  Everyone gathered around for the welcome.

Then, the kids broke down into smaller groups for various activities.

They got to meet a few animals too.

Then, it was time for a night hike in the zoo, where the kids practiced walking blindfolded and also got to see some of the nocturnal animals.

Despite a late night, Jessica was excited to be at the zoo in the morning.

The group got to meet more animals in the morning.

And, they went on another tour to see more animals and fed the farm animals.

more birthday celebrations

Back in March, both girls celebrated the birthdays of their friends.  Jamison celebrated Sam's 4th birthday.

Jessica celebrated Pierce's 7th birthday by ice skating.

The next morning, Jamison was very adamant that the animals stay exactly where she put them too.

I got to spend the day in Jamison's school volunteering for cooking back in March.  She requested that we make spaghetti and meatballs.

She enjoyed sharing her snack with Jocelyn.

While I was at school, Jamison shared did a story play of her Scary Story.  Jamison's Scary Story was:

One day Jessica and me were alone. Then I was alone with my unicorn light and it was broken. But my ladybug light was already there and it was working.

Devin's 7th birthday party

Jessica enjoyed celebrating Devin's 7th birthday party at Pump It Up.

selling Girl Scout Cookies

During January, February, and March, our entire family was quite busy selling Girl Scout Cookies. Jim managed the cookie sales for our troop and our troop did lots of booths and lots of sales in general.  Here are some of the girls, including Jessica, at one of our booths.

While Jessica and her friends sold away, Jamison entertained cars driving by with her rendition of "Let It Go".

Jamison's first hair cut

Jamison got her first hair cut in March (age 3.5+ years old).   Here she is during the hair cut.

family hikes

As the weather was quite warm in March, we took the girls on some hikes in the park close to our house.  They loved walking out and about.

We even managed to see lots of deer despite the kids making quite a bit of noise.

Overall, the girls thought hiking was fun.

Jamison decided that the lake is also really fun for watching fish and ducks.
