Jessica's 6th Birthday Party

For Jessica's 6th birthday party, she wanted to get dressed up and do a fashion show.  So, we had a party at Snip-Its where everyone got their hair and nails done, picked a favorite costume, and strutted their stuff on the runway.

As the birthday girl, Jessica was first up and chose a Princess hairstyle.

While some kids had their hair done, others worked on a craft project or got their nails and lipstick done.

Jamison, on the other hand, took the lipstick and was not so careful with it.  She nearly painted her entire face.

And, when it was her turn to get her hair done, Jamison also chose the princess hairstyle like her big sister.

After choosing dresses, Jessica and Jamison walked down the red carpet together.

After the red carpet, it was time for cake.  Jessica's daddy made her a My Little Pony cake. She wanted a very specific image on it.

Since Jessica's birthday party was on her birthday, we decided to let her open presents from us a day early so that the excitement of new stuff could be spread out a bit.  Our presents were all things for her American Girl dolls and then new costumes (as she has outgrown most of her old ones).

Jessica was really excited about all the gadgets and accessories she got for her American Girl dolls.

Every American Girl needs a tent and Jeep to go camping in right?

Jessica is such a nice big sister that she even let Jamison open a gift.  

She was also super excited to get a Cinderella wedding dress.  She plays bride all the time now.  When I ask her who she is marrying, she laughs and tell me it is all just pretend.  Thank goodness!

a trip to Gilroy Gardens

A few weeks ago, we went to Gilroy Gardens with some friends.  Jessica enjoyed riding on the strawberry ride all by herself.

Both girls loved the spinning cups.

Jamison thought driving the car was fun.  Jessica evidently has outgrown this type of ride and refused to go.

Jamison and her friend Ellie rode the firetruck together.

It was hot enough that the girls enjoyed splashing in the sprinklers for a bit.

Here are a few photos of Jamison playing at school this summer.  She loves to paint.  We seem to get a new masterpiece each day.

She also loves to play zoo with all the animals.

just a normal day at our house

A normal day at our house involves lots of dolls on the floor as the girls like to mix and match in their play.  Sometimes, Jamison likes to mix Barbies with Lalaloopsy dolls.  Unfortunately, this time I was trapped on the couch as she played.

Jamison and Jessica love going to movies now.  When they went to see Despicable Me 2, they dress up as minions!

4th of July parade and fireworks

Jessica and Jamison were excited to do the 4th of July parade again this year.  They got decked out in matching 4th of July outfits and helped decorate their bikes for the occasion.

That evening, Jessica really wanted to stay up late and see fireworks.  We went over to the Baylands to catch the fireworks show.

Unfortunately, Jessica fell asleep slightly after this photo and missed the fireworks completely!  We did have a lovely view.

Jamison's 3rd Birthday Party

Jamison celebrated her 3rd birthday at a local water park with family and friends.

Jamison loved the Ariel cake that her daddy made her.

Blowing out the candles was fun too.

On our way home, Jamison was lights out as soon as the car started moving.  That was a sign that her birthday party was a success.

Jamison's birthday dinner

Everyone gets to choose where they want to go to dinner for their birthday. For Jamison, we took her out the night before her birthday because we knew we would be wiped out from her water park birthday extravaganza.  Of all the places in the world to go to dinner, Jamison chose Chipotle.

Monsters University

The girls got all dressed up in dresses by Mimi to go and see Monsters University.

a trip to the zoo for a Big Cat breakfast and then the beach

Recently, one of the tigers at the zoo had a baby tiger and as part of the celebration they had a Big Cat breakfast.  We got to have breakfast with the big cats and see the baby tiger too.  Jessica and Jamison enjoyed their breakfast and the baby tiger.

After spending some time watching the cats, it was time to go and see some other animals.  The hippo was out enjoying his pool.

And, the girls enjoyed playing on the hippo statue together.

Jamison showed how well she can jump.

Eventually, it was off to see more animals.

Then, it was back to see the baby tiger.

And, we also took a quick train ride on the Little Puffer.

We finished up our trip to the zoo with climbing on more animals (grizzlies this time) and picking flowers.

Since the weather was amazingly nice at the zoo, we decided to stop at the beach before heading home.  The girls just loved playing in the water.
