a night at the carnival

A few weeks ago, Jessica and Jamison went to the carnival with their friends Isabella and Ben. They had a good time riding all of the rides.

Jamison's first swim class

A few weeks ago, Jamison went to her first swimming class. She was a bit unsure about the whole thing.



Sitting on the mat and singing songs was okay until it was time for mat walks. Then, Jamison just lost it completely.






Swimming afterwards did not go well either.




Let's just say the first lesson was not a raving success.

We are finally catching up on photos over here. After Jack and Nicky's party, Jessica and Jamison went to the park by their Nana's house. They had a fun time on the swings. Even though Jessica can swing on the big girl swings now, she likes to swing in the baby swings with her sister.

Jessica's crazy hair part 2

Jessica liked the ribbons from her Crazy Hair at school so much that she likes to still where them. Here she is posing in her crazy hair for her daddy.

Jessica's pipe study group at school

Since September, Jessica has been participating in a pipe study group at school. The group looked at all sort of plastic and paper pipes, tubes, etc. and what they could make out of them. They constructed numerous marble mazes throughout the year and showed one of the smaller versions off at morning meeting last week.

Jamison weeks 49 and 50

The past few weeks have been kind of crazy as we've had a garage sale, people visiting, and kids being sick. Throughout it all, Jamison managed to be all smiles.




Despite sporting crazy hair on occasion, she is still pretty cute.



Each day, Jessica goes with either Jim or I to drop Jamison off at daycare. Jessica loves to wave goodbye to her from the outside window. This day, luckily, Jamison was ok to see us go. Sometimes, she gets very upset :-(



Every week, Jamison gets dragged to Jessica's gymnastics class. Recently, she has been very interested in playing with the train table and toys that they have there. Of course, she chews the trains.



Speaking of chewing, we are still at the point where everything goes in Jamison's mouth.



The weather has started to warm up a bit finally, so the kids usually go out and play each night. Jessica can't wait for Jamison to play on all the big toys with her. Jim has started to take Jamison on the trampoline with him. She seems to like it.

We've been trying to coax Jamison to take a few steps by letting her stand and putting something of interest to her a few feet away. Here is the reaction so far.

garage sale

This year, we participated in the city wide garage sale. Unfortunately for us, it was raining cats and dogs. We had to erect a variety of shelters in the driveway to keep things dry. It looked like quite the carnival at our house.



Jessica's Aunt Liz was getting rid of a party dress. Jessica thought it made a great dress-up costume and decided to keep it.





While all of us were hard at work outside, Jamison was not feeling well inside. She was so tired, she fell asleep in her high chair.

last day of school

On Jessica's last day of school (for her afternoon school), there was a huge celebration with face painting, crazy hair, tattoos, and all sorts of other fun things. Jessica had a very specific vision for her face painting (princess) and crazy hair.

Jamison week 48

It was another happy week for Jamison minus the crabbiness due to teething (hence the crabby onesie).



Since she was doing major teething this week, the theme was chew, chew, and chew some more.





Jessica even tried to help Jamison during her cranky times by playing her music.

a memorial day trip to Great America

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Jessica and Jamison went to Great America with their friends Isabella and Ben. It is a Snoopy themed park and Jessica had fun posing with the Peanuts gang.





And, Jessica just had to have her photo taken with the Snoopy bench.



Jessica went on her first bumper car ride (all by herself too!) and had a great time.

Jessica also enjoyed the flying bug ride.



Meanwhile, Jamison was pretty content to hang out.



There weren't too many rides for her. She did take a trip on the cards.




And, she got lots of horsey rides from her daddy.

hula hooping -- practice makes perfect

When I was at Jessica's school on Thursday this week, she showed me how much her hula hooping skills have improved.

Jamison week 47

This week was all about the hair for Jamison. All of a sudden, it is sticking up and going every which way. It is a mess all the time. She still looks cute though!






I've tried to straighten it up with combs, rubber bands, and bows. At Jack and Nicky's party, she sported her first pigtail look. It got rave reviews. She, of course, cared less about the hair do and much more about the ball pit she got to sit it for 1+ hours. Jack and Nicky's party got two thumbs up from Jamison.



Jamison is at the cruising stage. She likes to go back and forth and practice her standing (and pounding).

Since she is mobile via crawling and cruising, she dashes around the house in search of her favorite toys. She seems to love the toys in the back part of the house (ironing board/washing machine and train table). To Jamison, they all make great chew toys and standing assistants.



In fact, Jamison will pretty much use anything she can get her hands on to stand up. Jessica has a new step stool to cook in the kitchen. It makes a perfect peek-a-boo toy for Jamison.



And, here's another photo of more standing by Jamison.



Every once in a while she will actually take a minute to play with toys.



But, at the end of the day, it is all about standing. Jamison can stand for some time now. The next step is taking steps on her own.

Something else to mention for this week. Jamison has been teething for ages. Tooth #3 is starting to peek through. It is one of the front top teeth.

fun in the sun

After a week of clouds and rain, we finally got some good weather (and on a weekend nonetheless). Jessica and Jamison enjoyed an afternoon in the backyard. Jessica opted for the pool while Jamison preferred the ball pit.

Jamison week 46

This week Jamison was all about making messes. She gets into everything and dumps things everywhere until she finds just the perfect toy.



She also continued to enjoy her musical instruments. It is a great activity for her to do while we make dinner.

Jamison and Jessica were excited when new toys came out of the attic. This is Jamison's new favorite toy to stand at.



And, Jamison practiced standing. She's able to stand for a few seconds by herself now

the girls enjoy a playdate

Jessica and Jamison enjoyed a playdate at Isabella and Ben's house this past weekend. Jessica and Isabella put on dress up and music shows for us.

Jessica and Isabella also made us cupcakes for dessert.



Let's just say that none of us ate them.

Jamison had fun too playing with all of Ben's toys. She especially like the zooming car track.
