a trip to the Children's Museum

This morning, we took the girls to the Children's Museum to play.  Jamison had fun making big bubbles.

Both girls loved playing in the tape maze that had been constructed.  Jamison spent a good portion of time crawling through the tunnels that had been constructed.

Jessica always love to play in the ambulance.  This time, Jamison helped take care of Jessica who was pretending to be sick.

The water area is always a big hit. Jamison had a great time putting the balls in the water tornado.

Meanwhile, Jessica had a good time too trying to balance a ball in the water fountain.

When Jamison tried, she got drenched in water.  She seemed to enjoy it at least.

Jamison was also all about the climbing this morning.

Jessica met some of her friends at the museum and they had fun building things out of cardboard in the art room.  Jessica built a bus stop.

While the big kids did their art, Jamison and her friend went to the younger art studio and did painting.

Jamison at school

Last week at school, Jamison had fun playing with the trains.

celebrating Daddy's Birthday

Jessica and Jamison were excited to celebrate their Daddy's birthday, probably because it meant cake!

reading with Jamison

Jamison has taken to reading aloud her books for us to hear.

Jamison swims

Jamison is really swimming these days.

She started off with a fin, but proved that she did not need it.  She can totally swim without it.

She also loves being thrown high and far in the pool!

fun at home the first week of January

Both girls were home from school during the first week of January.  They loved playing outside in the sun.

ringing in the New Year

This year, we decided to bring the kids in on the New Year's celebration.  We did our version of a balloon drop (very lame compared to the Pinterest one I tried to imitate) before dinner (simply because there was no way the drop was staying up long).

Anyways, the girls loved the balloons and kicked them around the house while we prepared our New Year's Eve feast.

Jessica was excited to drink out of pretty pink glasses just for the New Year.  Luckily, I found a pack that had one pink and one blue.  At this point, Jamison had started to lose some of her New Year's Eve party spirit.

Earlier in the week, we had purchased poppers for our New Year's Eve party.  Once dinner started, I could finally say "yes" to Jessica when she asked if she could open them.  She had learned all about party poppers in her class's exploration of holiday celebrations, and was excited to get a toy, crown, and joke.  The best part was that she got multiple poppers this time around!

I think Jim was happy with the party poppers.  He did ask where his popper was and wanted to open one I swear.

After dinner, the horns came out.  We quickly realized that was not a good idea (think headache inducing noise).

For New Year's Eve, we told the girls they could stay up as late as they wanted watching movies and eating popcorn.  Jamison and Jim made it through 2 movies, while Jessica and I passed out on the couch.

a Christmas trip to Disney

There was no time for the girls to play with any of their Christmas presents as we left for Disneyland on Christmas morning.  Here is a picture of Jessica and Jamison on the train at the airport.  They were really excited to go on the trip.

Jessica loved wearing her Christmas Tinkerbell outfit to Disneyland on Christmas Day.  After this quick photo, it was off to trade pins and ride the rides.

While Jessica and Daddy rode big girl rides like Space Mountain, Jamison and I had fun riding the rockets and Buzz.  This was our early morning routine.

After a few days of riding rides, the girls were ready for some character events.  They had fun greeting all of the princesses at the Princess lunch at California Adventure.

And, the next day, they were super excited when they got to meet Periwinkle in Pixie Hollow.

It was also great to see Tinkerbell.

Most of all, the girls had a great time at Disneyland with their cousins.  Jessica especially loved going on the big rides with them.  They were a bit crazy and did Splash Mountain in the freezing cold.  I was pretty excited that Jamison was too short for this ride.

The kids also had a great time at the Minnie breakfast our last morning at the park.  Poor Jamison was sick, so she missed it, but everyone else loved it.

Here are some photos of Jessica (and her cousins) posing with the characters from the breakfast.

Santa presents on Christmas morning

The girls woke up nice and early on Christmas morning to see the presents that Santa brought.  It was a check for the Lalaloopsy house and Barbie cruise ship.  Jessica was also thrilled to get a mini American Girl Samantha doll and books.

I'm not even sure which gift this was, but Jamison sure was excited.  She loved opening presents.

If only they knew how long Santa worked.  Over 4 hours to get the Lalaloopsy house and Barbie Cruise ship together.
