happy 1st birthday miss jamison

Happy 1st birthday Miss Jamison! What a cutie you are.

After dinner, Jamison enjoyed a small family party with those of us that regularly attend dinner (Jim, Jessica, and myself). We served cupcakes (Yay! according to Jessica) and sang happy birthday to our birthday girl.

She wasn't quite sure what to do with a whole cupcake. Once we cut it up, she seemed to enjoy it.

We think her birthday was a success.

Jamison weeks 51 and 52

As Jamison's first year comes to a close, she continues to show us how happy of a baby she really is.

She's even happy (sometimes) in the playpen that we have erected.

The reason that we decided to erect the playpen is simply because Jamison is into absolutely everything. She also has a huge preference for her sister's toys too. One of her favorite items is Jessica's play cookie set, which she is trying to double fist in this picture, and then Jessica's slinky (which she managed to tangle in under 1 second flat).

She also likes to play with the kitchen all of a sudden (mostly because there are lots of accessories to touch and explore) and the play animals (because they make good chew toys I suppose).

berry picking

This past weekend, we went with some friends to do berry picking at one of the local u-pick farms. The season has just started, so blackberries were the only fruit that was open.

Jamison got to ride in one of the carts.

This worked until we started to fill the cart with berries. At that point, Jamison was crawling all over the place eating berries out of the baskets. That must be why they charge an entry fee for adults -- to pay for all the munching that goes on along the way.

Here are some pictures of us hunting for the perfect berries.

Jessica was excited to show us the fruit of her picking. Of course, she preferred the red berries to the black, so we had to keep telling her the good blackberries are all black.

Jessica's new trick

Jessica practiced her new trick on her daddy a few nights ago.

Jamison weeks 50 and 51

We have decided that while Jamison is a super happy baby, she is also our little trouble maker. She is now into anything and everything and at paces that put Jessica to shame. Here is Jamison sporting her "Who me?" look. You think she should be all innocent just sitting there next to some instruments. Of course, the picture does not show the wave of destruction she left behind her.

Speaking of getting into everything, Jamison had a ton of fun in our hotel in Disneyland by playing with a box of water bottles. Honestly, it entertained her for hours over the course of the vacation.

Earlier in the week, Jamison had fun trying on hats in the party store.

And, to top it all off, Jamison took her first steps during the week.

Disneyland Day 3

On our last day at Disneyland, Jamison and Jessica were excited to run into Donald Duck.

Here is our Father's Day photo in front of the castle.

Then it was off to Dumbo for another ride.

Later in the morning we went to Minnie's Breakfast. The girls had fun meeting lots of characters.

Disneyland Day 2

On the way out of our hotel on day 2, Jessica and Jamison wanted to pose with Aslan. Then, it was off to the park.

First we rode Dumbo.

Then, we went off to see the princesses.

Jessica met a few other characters during the day.

Jamison had fun hanging out in her stroller.

At dinner, Jessica got a balloon crown.

Disneyland Day 1

This past weekend, we took the girls to Disneyland as our last trip before summer started. As usual, Jessica was very excited that Mickey had called and let us know we could come. The girls waited anxiously for the park to open.

As soon as we entered the park, Mickey was there to meet us. Jessica and Jamison were very excited to see him.

Once we got Jamison out of the stroller, all she wanted to do was walk (with help of course).

So, off to see Goofy we went.

Our first ride was the rocket ships.

Then, it was off to Toon Town where Jessica saw Minnie Mouse.

She got to take a stroll with Pluto as he got ready to sign autographs.

Then, the girls got to pose with him.

Jessica was finally tall enough to go on a tandem swing ride at California Adventure with Jim.

Jamison had a fun time watching them go round and round.

Next, Jessica and Jim went on the jelly fish ride.

Jamison was content taking a rest in her stroller.

Jessica was thrilled to see Kenai and Koda from Brother Bear.

Eventually, Jamison passed out. It was an exhausting day!

Jessica's 1st ballet recital

A few weekends ago, Jessica performed in her first ballet recital. Before the recital, Jessica had a good time posing for pictures.

Here the girls are on stage before they started their performance.

And, here are some photos from the performance. Video to follow once available from the school.
