This blog is about the Glore family. It chronicles the lives of Jim, Jen, Jessica, and Jamison Glore plus all of our animals. Of course, it's mostly so people can see what Jessica and Jamison are up to and how they are growing.

Jamison week 7
This week Jamison has been much more awake, alert and interactive. That means that she's doing a bit more around the house .
She likes to look at people and smiles a whole lot more now.

She spends a lot of time on my lap during the day stretching, cooing, and smiling.
She still likes to hang out in her boppy.

But, she also has finally started engaging more with her activity mat. She actually looks around at the various toys that are set up for her.

I guess all the looking around is exhausting because she typically falls fast asleep on her mat.

She likes sitting in her chairs. From the papasan chair, she gets a nice view of what is going on around the house.

And, her bouncy chair has lights that she has started to like to look at.

This week, she spent a lot of time traveling around in her car seat. She went to school, music class, gymnastics, swimming, ballet, and gymnastics camp. While she doesn't do any of the activities, she's typically awake and is perfectly content looking around.

Every night, Jessica and Jamison cuddle on the couch as Jessica gives Jamison hugs and kisses. Thanks to the Dora Birthday special this weekend on TV, Jamison gets Birthday hugs and kisses each night.

And, here is our little monster sleeping. She's a little monster because getting to sleep has proven difficult over the past few weeks. She prefers to sleep in mommy's arms. We now put her to bed early and let her cry herself to sleep. Despite the long bouts of crying, she does eventually fall asleep. And, she looks so peaceful.

A day at the Circus
Today, Jessica and Jamison went to the circus with their cousins Jack and Nicky as well as their Nana. Here is Jessica posing for her daddy in the parking lot.

She went to the animal open house and posed with the elephants.

Jack, Jessica, and Nicky hung out on the show floor pre-show and enjoyed the festivities. Here they are dancing (Jessica hangs out on her own side while Jack is in the line of kids on the other side).
And, here are some quick pics from the show.

Bella's 3rd birthday party
This weekend, Jessica went to Bella's birthday party at Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay. It was cowgirl / cowboy theme, so all the kids got their own cowboy hats with their names on them. Here are Jessica and Bella posing with their cowgirl hats.

The party included pony rides. Here is Jessica riding the pony.

And, there were also a few bounce houses for the kids to jump in. Here is one that Jessica had all to her own.

Then, Jessica jumped around with her friend Ellie Bellie.

Jessica eventually decided to take a break and came over to say hi to Jamison and I.

Bella's dad dressed up as Tinky Winky from the Teletubbies and ran games for the kids. The first game they played was the star dance games. The kids danced while the music played. When the music stopped, they picked up a colored star from the ground. If they picked the same color as Tinky Winky, then they got a prize. Here are Ellie and Jessica getting down to the music.

Jessica did not choose the right color the first round. As soon as she realized she would not get a prize, she tried to swap to the right color. Luckily, all the parents saw her and ratted her out. She did get the right color the next round though.
The next game was a relay horse race. The kids were supposed to divide into two teams. All the 3 yearr old girls huddled together and their older 4-5 year old brothers went to the other side. Not exactly fair, so the parents redistributed the teams. Here Jessica is racing with her horse.

There was a conga line and the wave the kids participated in.
Then, it was time for cake. Bella is into Jessie from Toy Story, so she got a Jessie and Bullseye cake. Bella's mom made the cake. Absolutely amazing looking and it even tasted really good.

And, here is an almost full group photo from the party.

Isabella's 3rd Birthday Party
Last weekend, Jessica and Jamison went to Jessica's friend's third birthday party. Isabella had a princess themed party at her house. Jessica decided that she wanted to wear her Ariel costume. We were sort of surprised (we figured she would pick Sleeping Beauty), but we weren't about to argue with her.
The two girls had fun making princess crowns.

And, then they bounced and bounced in the princess bounce house like Energizer bunnies.

Jamison made her appearance at the party. She's already attended two birthday parties in her short lifespan. Quite a popular girl! Of course, one was for her sister, so that shouldn't really count.

After lots of time outside, Jessica and Ellie read lots of princess books inside.

Eventually, it was pinata time. Everyone went back outside and took their turn hitting the pinata. Jessica went with a one arm swing. It really wasn't that efficient, but seemed to be pretty standard for most girls at the party.

When the pinata broke, Jessica grabbed lots of candy in her cup to find that she really doesn't like candy that much. I'm not complaining, but it was kind of gross to keep getting licked pieces of candy as she tried them all and then handed to me as soon as she decided they weren't for her.
By the time it was time for cake cutting, Jamison was out cold. Birthday parties just wear her out!

Jessica sings songs
Jessica loves to sing. She sings everywhere and anywhere. Jim and I can't keep up with all the songs she knows. It seems like she learns a new one each day at school. Here she is singing the fire truck song for Jim. This is the first time we heard it.

Jamison weeks 5 and 6
Weeks five and six have been more of the same plus a few new things. In the more of the same category, Jamison still likes to sleep during the day. On her tummy is one of her favorite positions and mommy must watch her constantly. Here she is cuddled up in her boppy.

And, once again, she fell asleep during tummy time.

The options for tummy time seem to be sleeping or screaming at the top of her lungs, so sleeping works.
It's not all about sleep anymore however. Jamison is spending more and more time awake during the day. She likes to sit in her bouncy chair.

And she also stretches out on her boppy each day.

Her largest stretch of awake time is usually at night. She seems to be a little night owl. She's usually up from the time Jessica is picked up from school (about 5) until about 9 or later at night. She might catch a small cat nap in there somewhere, but is generally awake for whatever activities Jessica participates in at night. Here, we are sitting on the couch. Jamison is working on strengthening her neck muscles while Jessica gives her lots of kisses and hugs.

There were also a few firsts for Jamison recently. She watched her first movie with Jessica (meaning the first movie she was awake for). Jessica is teaching her all about Disney princess and other characters through books, movies, stickers, etc.. This weekend, she told her all about Tinkerbelle while watching one of the Tinkerbelle movies.

And, Jamison is starting to coo and smile a bit.

our first "larger" family trip to the zoo
Well, at the end of July and many days spent at home, we decided it was time to take our larger family to the zoo. This was mostly so Jessica could spend some time running around outside.
Anyways, Jessica really did run around. It seemed that we spent the whole day trying to keep up with her.

Evidently she had lots of energy that needed to be used up. I'm glad we didn't spend the day at home.
She did stop to pose every once in a while to let her daddy take photos of her.

Jamison spent most of the day in the stroller or the baby carrier, so we didn't get any pictures of her really. She did get to ride the carousel though with Jessica. She's in the carrier though, so you can't see her. Here's to Jamison's first carousel ride. We hope she enjoys them as much as her sister does

Jessica does ballet
For months, Jessica has been talking about taking ballet lessons. I'm not sure where she learned about ballet (probably school), but I felt compelled to let her try ballet class to see if she would like it. Well, she has started with a short summer class that does ballet, tap, and tumbling. She seems to love it (most likely because she gets to dress up in a ballet outfit and twirl about). She goes around singing "ballet ballet", "ballet ballet".
Here are some photos from her first ballet class (in early July). You will notice she is missing her ballet shoes. That is because Jessica wanted to carry her shoes to the car, but evidently dropped the bag before making it out of the house. Now, we double check we have shoes before leaving the house.

Anyways, after a few classes, we are now signed up for the entire school year for both ballet and tap as Jessica seems to enjoy dancing. We'll post more images along the way.
