Jamison is one month old

It's crazy to think, but Jamison is one month old today. She had her one month old check-up a bit earlier in the week. She weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz and was 20 and 3/4 inches. She's growing on all fronts. She's in the 25% percentile for height and weight, however, so a bit smaller than Jessica (who averaged 75% most visits).

She has started to track people and things with her eyes. Here she was checking out one of the dogs who was standing just off the couch. She was probably hoping he didn't come in for a kiss (something that is happening more and more every day since she can't fight them off like the rest of us).



She still spends a good part of the day sleeping (either in her boppy or the swing).




Sometimes, while we eat dinner, we can get her to sit nicely in her papasan chair. It's like she's almost part of the meal.



She's still doing tummy time. She either falls asleep, which doesn't seem so useful, or tries to roll over (and is not successful at all).



Her neck is getting stronger. Today, she lifted it up quite high.



And, she finally sits in her new bouncy chair. She was a bit small before, but now sits pretty well in it. She likes to look at the lights and moving animals. It is one of the few things that can calm her while she cries at night.

Jessica at school

Here are some of the recent photos of Jessica that we got from her school.

She spent time painting a canvas with one of the older girls. There was a whole story behind the painting and how she worked on it.



She played peek-a-boo through the fence outside.



She spent time laughing with Isabella.



And, she spent time outside sitting on the tire. It's tiring being in preschool and I guess she just needed a rest!

Happy 3rd birthday Jessica!

Today, Jessica turned three. She celebrated with popsicle treats at school and a Happy Birthday from all her friends as well as a cupcake at home with another round of Happy Birthday.

Jessica was very excited that her cupcakes had pink frosting and sprinkles. Her daddy was able to find her the perfect cupcakes.



Notice Mousse in the background. He patiently waited near Jessica hoping for a morsel or two of cupcake.

On another note, her 3rd birthday has also marked another important milestone -- moving from pull-ups to underwear. She is now wearing underwear to school since she is a big girl. She's done fairly well the past few days. We need to teach her a bit about modesty, however, because as soon as she gets to school she lifts her dress and shows everyone her underwear.

Jamison week 3

Jamison just hit the 3-week old mark yesterday. It's amazing how quickly time flies. All of a sudden, she is spending more time awake with her eyes open and looking around.




She's also doing more and more tummy time. Some of it is done on the boppy.




And, some of it is done on her tummy time mat. She seems to like being on her tummy and falls asleep very easily in this position.

Jessica's 3rd birthday party

A few weekends ago, we had Jessica's third birthday party at Pump It Up! . Here Jessica and her friends are ready to go into the bounce room.



Jessica loved the big slide. She went up and down it many times.



Playing basketball in the bounce house was fun too.



But, the best part, seemed to be the obstacle course that the kids had to traverse.

When it came time for singing and cake, Jessica got to sit in the princess chair.

We think the party was a success. Jessica fell fast asleep as soon as she got home.

Jamison Week 2

Jamison had her 2 week check-up at the doctor this week. She weighed in at 8 lbs and was 19.75 inches. So, she gained about a pound since she left the hospital and grew half an inch. She is still sleeping quite a bit, but is spending more time awake, looking around, and trying to track objects. The doctor thinks she will be cooing and smiling soon. The best news was that we don't have to wake her up every 3 hours at night. Now, we are only doing one feeding in the middle of the night!

She is spending more and more time doing tummy time. She doesn't seem to mind it too much and often falls asleep on her tummy.



She also spends a lot of time looking at us with one eye open.

The rest of Jamison's first week at home

The rest of Jamison's first week at home was filled with sleep, sleep, and even more sleep.

She slept in her bassinet.



And in her papasan chair.






And in her boppy.



She even managed to sleep while doing tummy time.



We did catch her awake every once in a while.

Jamison's first bath

A few days after being home, Jamison got her first bath. Jamison isn't quite ready for the full-on baby bath. Instead, she gets bathed on a big sponge. The bath started out okay.




She quickly broke down into full on screams however.
